Biography
Born and raised in the United States, Mohera Narimetla has been privileged to study Kathak since the age of 5. She received her training under Guru Sonia Chaudhuri at Upasana Performing Arts Center, located in Nashville, TN. There, Mohera serves as a Kathak Instructor and is also an active, senior member of the Sonia Chaudhuri Dance Company. She has performed throughout the Greater Nashville Area and other cities such as Louisville, KY and Charleston, SC.
In March 2024, Mohera completed her Nritya Samarpan, with a thematic emphasis on the "The Divine Feminine.” She is passionate about upholding the historical and artistic integrity of Kathak, as well as sharing its beauty and complexity with local communities. Her aspirations as a classical Indian dancer center raising awareness around the forgotten and nuanced aspects of Kathak through education and creative endeavors.
